The reason why people are paying for x's intake is because there is some hard evidence that they can understand. Not to say things are are wrong, because there is nothing to suggest otherwise besides a disparaging attitude.

People pay $200 for an Injen stick of aluminum and a filter. Anyone with half a brain could make one if they tried. But obviously these companies are providing a useful product to people that don't trust their mechanical skills.
