Yes, this is true. LED DLP's lifespan of 20k hours is way more than flat panel LCD's 60k hours. If you're talking rear projection LCD, it's the same as DLP as the bulb is 6-8k.

Wow, what? You think the motors moving the mirrors is limitless? Ok, and plasma TV's leak gas.

1. Plasma's response time is less than 2.5ms vs. 5-6ms on LCD's.
2. DLP is not better than plasma in terms of moving pictures but yes, they're one of the better ones. There's no spectrum, it's called a colorwheel. BIG difference. A spectrum is used in LCoS technology.
3. Plasma has one of the highest contrast ratios but the blacks are only green on cheap panels, not all of them. Clearly you only looked at the cheapest price ones and forgot to look around more...

Actually, most are 60k to half life meaning double the numbers you already posted and that will be when the panel is half at bright as it was the day it was bought.
