Yea I understand that, but in florida, even the winters are pretty warm (especially in Miami), and I'm not looking to get something that I have to swap in and out. Basically, I'm looking for something with proven gains, no matter what the weather. I know thats being pretty picky, but the lack of torque in the low end on the SI kills me, its really the only thing I dislike about this otherwise amazing car. Modding wise, I'd definately prefer to start with something that has the potential to improve the performance of my car (an intake) while still being a relatively good intro to modding the SI.

From what I understand from reading this post, the stock intake in the SI is a cold air intake. Why exactly would putting in a K&N replacement filter into the stock NOT increase torque/hp? Does the stock intake just not bring in enough air?

As for the X-intake, I've seen some pictures of it, but it still looks like its placed in an area that would get hot and take in a lot of hot air. I might be wrong, and from what I hear, thats probably the intake to get (maybe after its being sold at corsport, then i'll give it a shot), but I still really don't understand how it has these gains? Or maybe everyone who uses it is from a place with cold weather.

Anyway, still conflicted.
