Yeah its on the backside, but to me a part of a well done retro is a clean backside and that is one of the harder parts of a retro. To me the retros that have stood out to em are the ones that functions well and looked good not only front the front but from the back. Attention to detail.
I would assume so also, i guess we'll just have to wait and see what bjorn says.

I'm still a little blind as to what "donut" you're referring to. I'm looking at the back area of the housing where you can clearly see the white residue of the old sealant on Tim's retro. I do believe that part is already there, IIRC.
Mine are in-set just as much as Tim's are, so the only thing really sticking out of the back is just enough for the D2S bulb to attach unto.
Are you talking about the part behind the MDX shroud? Again, this may be a byproduct of how the projector was mounted, as opposed to "quality control".
