mine has always been within 1.5%

I know this because when you fill up and reset the scangauge it has a section that allows you to adjust the amount filled up verse the amount scangauge thought you used. I always seem to go up or down 1%.

I also did the math of miles/gallons at fillup and compared that with the SCGII and it was within 1-2%

I did drive about 40miles with zero bars on the fuel gauge.
