Your other options in this youth oriented market:
Scoin Tc, Hyundai Tiberon, VW GTI, Saturn Ion Redline, Chevy Cobalt SS
The si is the only one worth getting and has the most bang for the buck.
Haby Red is my personal favorite but to each his own, black is a second choice, but dito, since you don't like either I'd say Fiji Blue or Tafeta(sp?) White, the grays are boring for such a fun car.
I haven't felt the e-brake thing, and frankly it doesn't sound life threatening :P
The car is an absolute riot and you're in for the ride of your life, ignoring all the numbers, the g-pad ratings, the 0-60s, the top speed, or the technology such as the lsd, or 197hp, or deliciously fun redline, the feel is what its all about, because most of the time thats what will effect you the most. You might loose or win some straightline drag from a light with a friend, but it doesn't really matter, what does is that feel when you whip it into a corner and it just takes it, when you hit i-vtec's turn on point and the engine lets you know its alive and screaming. You've absolutely made the best choice. top that off its honda quality and engineering, they spend more on engine r&d than ANY other company, not in its class, ANYONE. God I love this car.
Also good luck avoiding navi, save the 1800, grab an after market for less than half, and enjoy the padding the extra grand in your pocket offers you (not that you'll need it the seats are exquisite.
And remember as far as the waiting it will just be that much better when you get it.
Enjoy.
