If you freeze the bushings over night before the install they will shrink just enough to make them slide right in, A little trick learned from dirtbike bushings. You have to work quickly as for once they thaw they begin to expand to normal size again, you don't want to be shaving these down for that defeats the purpose of changing them in the first place. As for the dreaded 3rd gear this does help a little but it's not the full cure, I have done bushings, skunk2 short shifter and 440gr skunk2 knob and it's better but it still was not the fix so after doing a little research on MTF's I found BG Syncro shift which is run as the stock fluid in the EVO a car known to be a lil violent on the tranny being that you are driving a stick if you have this problem you can do the flush by simpley dumpin the old and running in the BG. I ran the car hard for about a half hour down shifting from high RPM TO REALLY WORK IT IN. After working it into the trans I dumped again refilled and ran it for a day or about 100 miles then went and picked up the additives from honda refilled with the bg and the new additives and so far things have been all good if you want to save some loot you can find an acura dealer and get the performance MTF that they use in the type s also good stuff but th BG is better but also has a nice price tag with it since it is normally used to flush I was only able to find at a mitsubishi dealer in a 3 gallon size for a $68 price tag and was told by my speed shop that it is too expensive for them to carry and that they can't get small amounts so you may need to go to a dealership to get it, but hey re doin a tranny with new syncro's is gonna cost alot more so I guess $68 ain't that bad. 3 months now without problem so I think it worked.
