I think that if you have the money the PC is the best. The games tend to look better and have much more customization options. The PC can offer pretty much whatever control option you want, joysticks, mouse/keyboard, even Xbox 360 controllers. The PC is also the only real option when it comes to strategy games. Plus the games tend to be cheaper when first released and drop in price more quickly that their console counterparts.

However, there are several reasons why I have a 360 and not a gaming PC. Hardware and software issues and compatability problems are never fun when all you want to do is play the latest game without having to spend 20 minutes on-line looking for the latest drivers and updates. The initial expense is generally much higher than a console. Though the games tend to be cheaper initially and drop in price quickly there isn't the vast used game libraries at most game stores like there are with PS3/360/Wii.
