I just installed smoke lamin-x on the headlights and charcoal on the tail lights, but I cut out the charcoal vinyl section on the tails. It looks better and is safer too. No experience with the fog lamps personally, but I have seen a few posts that mention initial smoking but later settling down.
Overall, I like that my headlights and tail lgights match my window tint, but recommend installing brighter bulbs for those effected - head, tail and front turn. You may find the charcoal a bit darker than you expected, I did. The quality of the product seems very nice and seems like it will last a good long time. It was somewhat forgiving on the installation and (like the manual says) it does breath allowing small bubbles and such to escape. It looked better when it had cured a few days than when I was finished!
As for installation, it isn't super easy if you are a rookie, but the tails are pretty doable. For the headlights, I didn't think the fit was good at all. The bump section toward the outside edge createds problems and causes excess material as you near the top and bottom edges. By making a slit on each side near the bump and overlapping the two edges, I was able to make it look pretty good really, but I was pretty PO'd when I realized that I wouldn't be able to make it fit as per the instructions. It may have been the 100 degree temps where I was working however, you may want to consider the Ebay versions that come in a two piece design and apparently cost half that of laminx.
Lastly, buy brighter bulbs!
