When the amsoil is drained it is black in the bucket, I'm refering
to it's color and transparency of a thinner film on the dipstick.
I can't answer this question, is the oil cleaner because it's working
or is it not suspending dirt, I don't know. A friend who turned
me onto the amsoil 20 years ago, broke a timing belt and bent
valves on a Fiat at 150k miles.
The mechanic called him to find out what oil it was, said he
never saw a 150k motor so clean and wear free.
All I'm saying is that for the price of these oils, might as
well get something for it, as in mpg.
If there was any indicator that would be definitive about the function of
an oil it would be mpg, that's what it does, reduce the losses of friction.

I would be worried if my oil doesnt get dirty.Wear particles do not affect oil colour as they are too minute,it is the dust/sand that enter into the internals throuh air that effects oil colour & if its a good detergent oil it will prevnet that crap from collecting in critical parts of the enigine.
