I hope that Sony has a strong launch, if only to push Microsoft in their R&D deparment. A smooth launch will only support the console and press MS to advance.
Someone (I think it was FujiBlueSi) mentioned that Microsoft is planning to drop the price of the 360. I've heard news of the contrary from Gamespot.com...

but at the same time, I've heard, from a different source, that they're not dropping the price, but instead including an HD-DVD add-on to offset the PS3's blu ray.
