If you saw the backfire in fact blow out your exhaust then there really is ecu problems. If you did NOT see it blow it...the lack of resonator can make it sound like it's popping or backfiring, while in fact...it isn't. Have someone look at your exhaust while you rev and let off right away. When both of you hear the sound, but does not have backfire flames come out...then it's the exhaust system's design. I might check into magnaflow's exhaust to see if there are any defects.
