The theory of this is exactly the same as an SRI. I had not changed the filter, just disconnected the tube that routes through the fender. After a few weeks, I got a CAI installed and that's my experience with it. It mostly changed the sound, and for that alone, I enjoyed it. Yes, heatsoak was a mild issue, as with any unshielded SRI.
