07 Civic Si w/ Hanging RPM Issue

Yep, I have the same issue. I have an appointment on Monday to reflash the ECU with a different Honda dealership. This service manager seemed to know the issue quite well and said to bring it in. According to him, it makes a noticeable positive difference with the hanging RPMs.

The hanging RPMs for me are not as annoying as the sputtering hesitation that you sense from a dead stop. The service manager said the ECU reflash attempts to address this issue as well, but, he has not noticed a huge difference in this respect.

I've been driving a stick for longer than I want to admit and I have to say the drive-by-wire system (at least Honda's version) is flat out lousy. I have a 94 Acura Integra GS-R with over 222k miles on it and the throttle response is still instantaneous using the conventional mechanical cable. There was nothing to improve upon here; they had a system that was tried and true - flawless...

Except for the throttle response, this is simply a terrific car for the money. Let's hope Honda can come up with a real fix for this. The current throttle configuration is just not safe for driving within moderate to heavy traffic.

I'll provide an update once the ECU is reflashed and I've tested it out for a few days.
