ACTUALLY, the quick and dirty way you describe would have led me to much less heartache and pain.

That's a plastic clip from the bottom of the grille where it snaps to the bumper. It's laying in the sheild under the radiator. It was the only one I recovered. I bought 3 more and snapped them in later.

After I had the grille unscrewed, I gave a good yank. POP! Hey, what was that? Bye bye plastic clips.
