I wanted to jump on the relay kit bandwagon. When I install it, I will not use the relay kit. Why? Here is why. From the factory, the low beam bulbs operate on a circuit protected by a 20-amp fuse. Each low-beam bulb is run in parallel circuits, and each bulb circuit run is protected by a 10-amp fuse.
The supplied relay has 20-amp fuse for the circuit going to the ballasts and ultimately the bulbs. From the relay, there are two wires, each running to the separate ballasts. Assuming the wires are run in parallel, each wire will supply 10-amps to each ballast. Therefore, the relay circuit is no different than what is already provided in the car, other than the fact that the wires to the ballasts are not protected by 10-amp fuses. I would rather use the protection of the 10 fuses in the car and use the existing low-beam circuit. It also makes sense that Orient Express measured less than 10-amps on startup of the bulbs.
Great DIY OE! I plan to follow it.

it's 10 amp for each low and relay harness comes with a 30amp fuse as well as the relay itself being 30amps to begin with.
