Just curious...why do some guys tell girls "if it came down to it I'd be with you, no one even compares to you", "I would never fall for anyone else", or "you don't have to worry about anyone taking your place" but then spend time/hang out/hook up with other girls? I can usually tell when guys are bullshitting with me, but when this one told me these things, I didn't sense bullshit.

I'm not trying to be rude or generalize by saying all guys do this to all girls, I've just experienced this myself as well as a few other females that I know. I'm aware that some guys will say anything to sleep with a girl, but when that's not even an issue...why do they feel the need to say things like that? To keep the girl around just in case things fall through with other girls? To build her up just to watch her fall? Or is it ever true?
