So I've made the dealership my partial home the last two weeks, getting (constant) rattles fixed, my cowel replaced due to peeling, my wiper arm replaced due to paint peeling and chipping, and a slew of other things.
Last week, my service tech Lisa called me and told me they have a new recall, and if they should do it. I told her yes.
The next day, I came up to Burnsville and they said "That's so weird...the bulliten disappeared. Its gone from the system".
Honda pulled it. I inquired about it again this morning, and it JUST reappeared.
Its for the rear bearing. I have no idea what model Civic this is for, but I know for sure its at LEAST the Si coupe, and I'll update it when I find out how wide-ranging this potentially could be.
According to the bullitin (I'll get a copy when I leave), it said something along the lines of,
"The rear bearing on the <insert year> Civic <insert model> is improperly sealed from the factory, potentially allowing water or other foreign objects to get inside and corrode/rust the bearing, which may result in the wheel falling off/causing an accident."
Yay Honda. I'm glad its back up, that's potentially seriously. Not something I'd expect from a Honda, but I just figured you should all know. I didnt want to post anything about it until I knew FOR SURE.
