They praised the handling, but the car's straight line performance translated into the slowest lap time in its bracket. Running the cars around an actual race track with both straights and turns is IMO a very good way to gauge performance and I wish they'd do these types of comparo's more often.
If you havn't already you should give it a read...interesting article, would make me cry if I owned a mustang tho.

I read the article when it was in the magazine. The Cobalt SS/SC is very competitive and beats our Si's in the twisties and the strait-aways. Not sure about reliability, but when it comes to pure performance it's better.
The Supercharged Cobalt has 205 hp @ 5600rpm and 200 torque@ 4400rpm, redlines at 6500 RPM and and weighs 2,681 lbs.
Quite a little monster.
