there's another LAW that protects homebuyers from the seller of a house lying on the seller's property disclosure. so the guy who sold me my house lied and said the basement doesn't leak. well, it does. so because it's the LAW to not lie, means nothing. it means I have a 12 month old headache, an attorney, and a wet basement still, and there's no guarantees. I have to "prove" he knowingly lied. It takes time, and dedication, and a massive amount of energy to keep going with that. If a dealer wanted to argue that your engine problems came from an AEM intake, and refused to pay for the work up front, you'd have to pay for it out of pocket in the meantime or you wouldn't have a car. Then you get to experience the joys of settlement or litigation.
I realize I'm looking at the worst case scenario with the car thing. But it's possible. Law or no law, it's a pain in the ass to get into a dispute over money especially when you're talking about your car.
