I had an 05 Civic EX with a K&N SRI which wasn't too bad, I added a Magnaflow Catback and it was unbearable.

So an Icebox (Comptech/Mugen) combined with a softer exhaust like a Tanabe Medallion Touring or Concept-G (which are both claimed to be under 93db) will still sound ricey? If it turns out that Mugen will be my only non-ricey-sounding intake option after I wait another year for Comptech Icebox to come out maybe I'll just shell out that ridiculous $800 for an intake...I really don't want that ricey sound from the CAIs and SRIs out there...I just want the engine note to be a little meaner, but not that much louder. Is all this too much to ask? Does this plus the 5whp not justify the $800 for the Mugen? Opinions please thanks. BTW, I have an SI sedan, and the only part about the sound I don't like is that between 2k and 3k its a little annoying. Its just droning, louder than under 2k, but not good sounding like above 3k.
