it's obvious that you have to test-fit the part before you paint it..
do you buy a pair of shoes before trying them on first? do you get a tattoo before sketching it out first? do you buy a 06+ civic coupe before test driving it first? same thing.. you need to test-fit a kit before you get it painted. What happens when you paint the part first, then realize, o S***.. it doesn't fit? you'd have to cut it, sand it down, prep, whatever it takes to make it fit, then repaint that part again?? it doesn't make sense to me, unless you're a baller with infinite amount of $$$.
