guess i got lucky
i've been online looking at pics and dreaming about getting an SI. well i finally got off my butt yesterday and attempted to make some calls. i had heard you have to order the SI model and be patient. the local dealers here in tulsa said near 3 months. i had been debating over the SI and a new GTO. let me tell you the GTO almost had me.... specially since i could go test drive them 3 miles from my house... i called OKC and dallas. dallas seemed to want to put body packages on the SI and sell them for 26k?
anyhow, my local dealer had a rep SI in the back of the dealership, so i went down to look at it, maybe sit in it... it was white, i thought WOW, talk about nice looking!!! got in, checked it out, they said i couldn't drive it. then said i could drive it around the dealership, but not out in the streets. ha! couldnt get it out of first! we talked and i decided to hold off for another week.
later that afternoon, the dealer calls back and says he has one coming in in 10 days, and the guy that ordered it canceled, he wanted to know if i wanted it. without hesitation i said hell yeah! then asked him what was on it and what color it is. (white) i think it was the standard options, no navi. the dude that ordered it has been waiting since april 21st.
long story short, i should get my SI in around the 4th of july! i was so pumped. after hearing all day how i was going to have to wait for 3 months....
it is hard to wait 10 days, i can't imagine having to wait 3 months.....
guess i got lucky
