thank you for this DIY... saved me $300+tax on an install and was able to spend a little more on equipment.

i was confused and being new to car electronics and modifications i was a little hesitant with slicing into unknown territory, so i went ahead and searched for "acc fuse 12v" on this website and found an easy way to complete this step:

*** Then a remote wire...
*** I just removed the factory HU to get an ACC wire(use this thread)
*** http://www.8thcivic.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3534

Check out this thread (post #7):

* Where the 12V locate?

you really only need to follow step 1 and 2 on that post.

it's a little confusing @ first, and the pictures are missing on that post... just do the following:

1.) remove fuse #35 from the fusebox located right above dead floor pedal on drivers side.

2.) insert a mini "add-a-circuit" with two 7.5 fuses included in the kit, or buy an extra one just in case. the 7.5 fuse inside the fusebox will not work... you need to use the kind that come with the kit.

3.) run the ACC wire thru the left hand side drivers section how you see fit.

4.) enjoy!

thanks to gulfcoastghosthunters for the DIY... it works :)
