Midrange does nothing for racing, except for the initial launch when you go up to the optimal RPMs. In races, you should always be in the optimal range anyways (6500+). What Hondata helps most in terms of racing is the fact that the rev limit increased to 8500-ish. If you notice, the horsepower keeps getting better even when it approaches the limit. Thus with the reflash your optimal range is extended and peak HP heightened.
But yeah, that midrange is nice to have in every day gunning =)
