I have averaged just over 28mpg for my first 5,000 miles in a 2007 Si. And I do NOT try to hit the sweet spot....or avoid lane changes or accelleration/decelleration. I dont know any idea how you guys can find enough open road to stay in VTEC and get these 20mpg tanks.....I drive normally and ocassionally beat it up.
It sounds like something is seriously wrong with your car, you are calculating the mileage wrong or you simply do not shift until you get to redline all the time.
