Thanks guys! As you can see from the video, it's not perfect, but it gets the job done, and it's really really cheap.
Izzy - I think the problem would probably have more to do with the fact that it's bolted to the passenger's headrest, which isn't entirely free from vibrations and bumpiness, but I'm sure a fluid-based headstock would help the video quality. Also, it should be noted that I was using the movie function on an old digital camera, rather than a camcorder.
TUKONG - The camera I used to record the video is a Canon PowerShot A530. The camera I used to take the pictures is a Canon Digital Rebel XT.
