I would suggest wiring the amp to be on when the ignition is on instead of only when there is an audio signal. The reason is that sometimes with certain stereos (kenwood for sure) you will cycle thru the sources (cd, radio, ipod etc) and the amp will turn off and not power back up when you get to the source you want. Found that out the hard way.
