Has anyone done this? Or know how much $ I stand to lose on the deal? I'm worried about depreciation (with dealer markdown for trade-in), interest I've already paid and the initial costs I paid for the LX and stand to pay for an Si (GAP, extended warranty, TT&R, etc.).

Basically, is it worth it???
I've done it. If in any way possible, sell your LX privately. You'll get the most out of the vehicle that way. Unfortunately, I decided not to do that and my dealer gave me a pretty low ball offer, because they knew I wanted a taffeta white coupe so bad. I think you can minimize your debts by selling the car privately and looking for a possible car nearby via these forums classifieds. There are people who have very reasonable asking prices, sometimes with modifications.
