Yeah, I had a similar thing happen too. I was in auto shop and I brought my car in to change the MTF and I told my shop teacher that it keeps popping out of 3rd because the tranny was overfilled. He said the same thing "Are you sure you're not just shifting too fast?" He says that trannys are hard to overfill and doubts that changing the MTF would help my problem. So I got my Si on the lift and took the fill plug out and out comes a bunch of oil. He was surprised to see it. Then I just changed my MTF to Amsoil like many others on this board and it's fine.
