ACT Clutch Kits, Flywheels and Greddy SP2 Exhaust

ACT Clutch kits:

Quote:
ACT Heavy Duty Clutch Kits are ideal for street-driven Honda Civics that have more power than the Civic OEM clutch can hold. ACT Heavy Duty Pressure Plates provide a 20-50% clamp load increase, yet still offer smooth engagement, quiet operation, and improved durability when used with street discs. All the ACT clutch kits are SFI certified up to 10000 RPM.

Key Features:
Increased torque capacity, durability, & extended clutch life.
All street discs are designed for smooth engagement & quiet operation.
Pressure & release travel in the optimum working range.
Able to withstand high heat & abuse.
90 day warranty.

Civic ACT Clutch Kits Includes:

Pilot bearing/bushing (if required).
Pressure plate.
Disc.
Release bearing/throw out bearing.
Alignment tool.

You may find it helpful to look at the ACT Clutch Guide that we've scanned into .pdf format. This will help you determine which clutch is best for you. Note that the "OO" (Stock Street Disc) is being phased out in favor of the "MM" (Modified Street Disc) on many of ACT's applications.

For organic street discs "MM" and "SS" we recommend breaking in the clutch for 200-300 miles with mild engagement such as stop and go city driving prior to racing or spirited driving. ACT race discs usually only require a few hard slips to lap in the surfaces prior to normal driving or racing. Do not overheat the clutch during the break in period.

The spring centered discs are a new offering from ACT, and we are selling these in place of the traditional solid centered race discs because they are quieter and cause less driveline shock (which is why Honda Civic OEM discs have springs in them).

Flywheel Notes: A smooth, flat flywheel surface is essential for proper clutch operation. If upon inspection of your Civic's flywheel there are signs of scoring, heat damage or warpage, the flywheel should be resurfaced or replaced to assure good clutch performance. IF YOUR FLYWHEEL SHOWS ANY SIGNS OF CRACKING, REPLACE IT! If you unsure about the condition of your flywheel, we highly recommend purchasing an ACT flywheel with your ACT clutch. Typically, flywheel resurfacing costs around $80-$100, but it can be hard to find a quality shop to do it. It is usually almost as cost effective just to purchase a new flywheel.

ACT Flywheel:

Quote:
ACT XACT ProLite flywheels are ideal for road race Civics that require a very quick throttle response and instant acceleration. Most stock flywheels are heavy cast iron parts designed for optimum street driveability by soaking up some of the power from the engine and putting it in storage in the form of inertia. Although this may be important for transporting the groceries, this driveability comes at the expense of engine response and acceleration.

Light weight flywheels keep less inertia in storage but the lighter rotating mass provides significantly improved engine response and acceleration characteristics. Until now, most aftermarket flywheels for Honda Civics presented certain undesirable concessions to the user. Many are too light or fragile for the application, others have reliability issues and all are very expensive.

Finally, ACT offers excatly what performance enthusiasts need: all the benefits of a premium quality light weight flywheel at an affordable price.

ACT XACT flywheels are certified by ACT to meet SFI Spec. 1.1. This makes XACT Flywheels legal for competition when SFI Spec. 1.1 is required or recommended. XACT flywheels come complete with official SFI sticker and serial number as required for certification.

ACT ProLite Flywheel Key Features:

Preferred for road racing.
Very quick throttle response and acceleration.
Very light (only 8.5 pounds!), with minimal rotational inertia.
Note: If you plan on using your Civic for normal street use or drag racing, you may prefer the StreetLite flywheel. For straight-line acceleration, a higher momement of inertia is more desirable because it keeps the engine from slowing itself down too quickly. The ProLite flywheel is made for road racing, where a low moment of rotational inertia will lead to better lap times

ACT StreetLite Flywheel Key Features:
Preferred for street and drag racing.
Improved throttle response and acceleration.
Considerably lighter than stock (only 12.5 lbs).
Extremely durable and good drivability.
Note: If you plan on using your Honda Civic for road racing, you may prefer the ProLite flywheel, which is even lighter. For road racing, a lower momement of inertia is more desirable because it allows for quicker throttle response and aids in deceleration, which leads to faster lap times.
