You should check the base of the bulb to see if it is too large for the socket. I helped a local guy and unfortunately both his bulbs weren't going into the socket because of the base being too large. You can see where it is grinding as we're trying to force it in. If that's the case, file or sand it down gradually and test fit it. You don't want to sand it down too much or else it'll start moving in the socket.
