I was actually wanting to "buy them back" from him, however, he had wrecked his car (fell asleep at the wheel, glanced off a guard rail), thus totalling the wheels.

That sucks dude! Your car was my inspiration to get those rims! Its sad to hear that the car and the rims are gonna be gone
