I didn't get my first new car until I was 25! Was an Air Force Staff Sergeant at the time and I KNOW I earned it. Was an '85 Audi Coupe GT Quattro. Loved that car. My daughter turns 16 in September. She's getting a car from us a gift for being an excellent student and all around good kid. That and I'm tired of being the taxi service for every friggin activity she has. LOL. It's a '94 Accord LX with 140K miles. Has new struts, new brakes/calipers and new tires. Interior is flawless and engine is literally unstoppable. I expect this car to get her through college. I know she'll take care of it too. She wants to learn basic maintenance for it. I'm proud of her and she deserves it. Oh, she'll be getting a part time job to help cover insurance and gas. I know of kids getting brand new vehicles and it is beyond me how the parents think the kids will learn any life values from this. Parents generally want to provide a better life for their children but there has to be limits.
