Phone is too excessive. The touch screen idea is cool but to me it's just another useless feature that is gonna break down or degrade. What does it do better that any other phone doesn't already do? I'm not gonna throw down $600 on a phone just because it's packaged by Apple. There's phones that do an awesome job with MP3's, taking photos, video, texting, note taking, etc. I just don't see a valid justification for it other than it's a product by Apple. The price most likely won't go down, Apple as a company controls pricing for all the retail chains selling their products, this is the reason why you never see Apple products on sale unless they're used, refurb items.

Apple makes good products however it's hard to justify spending 2X markup for PC components just because it comes with an Apple designed tower and the operating system.

If I wanted stability in an OS I'd run Linux, which has about the same software compatiability as any Mac OS and it's free. Until more software developers make software for Mac OS, I'd stay away from it.
